If you ever owned a Sega Master System, no doubt you would have played this on it at some point. This has pure gameplay value, and a real nostalgia treat.
I never knew an arcade version of this game existed until I heard about it being supported in the System 16 emulator, and boy was I ready for it.
For those of you that have never experienced this game, you are a small ship called Opa Opa which has to kill all of the main enemies on the particular level. Every set of enemies you kill produces a coin, which when collected is used as money in the shop, which you can enter at any of the shop balloon signs.
In the shop you can buy anything from a powerful engine, through to a smart bomb. Weapon powerups and engines only last for a certain amount of time, so it is best not to buy them at the shop straight away, but save them for the end of level boss instead.
Dont let the cutesy graphics turn you off. They add to the cartoon style of the game, which pulls it away from most regular shoot-em-ups.
All in all, this game is a must for the System 16 emulator, and will get you reminising about the old Master System game you played a lot as a kid.
