Everyone's heard of Q-Bert, even your granny has heard of Q-Bert, everyone loved Q-Bert,
although no-one could explain what he actually was, everyone would agree that he looked
cool.
Kids are easily bought, me in particular when I was young, I was bribed to move house
40 miles away from my friends, what was this bribe you ask? was it untold riches? a car
when I was old enough to drive? money in the bank? no, it was Q-Bert for the Atari 2600,
get the picture? I love Q-Bert.
So when I found this, it was like finding a pound coin when you bend down to pick up a
penny that you drop, i.e. quiet enjoyable, not as enjoyable as finding a 50 quid note, but
then q-bert is coming on for 17 years old, but still it was a nice bonus to find it.
I dont think I can really say anything that the title dosent, but to sum it up, its faster,
harder, and surprisingly, its even more challenging than the first one. You still have balls,
coiled snakes and the like chasing you, but now they are chasing you even quicker. To be frank
its a f***ing knightmare, play it before bedtime, I betcha you cant sleep for thinking about
the q-bert arena.
This is what emulation is all about, FHMC Q-Bert was never released, but with Mame, you can
take a slice of gaming history, its Q-Bert 3 really, and its bloody good.
