This is a manual for all people who did not get UltraHLP to run perfect.

UltraHLP is not a single emulator, it is a tool for UltraHLE 1.0.0 (Download here). You must have UltraHLE, before you can use UltraHLP. Unpack UltraHLE (ultra.exe) to a directory you want (try to use short directory names (8.3)), e.g. c:\ultrahle. Now unpack UltraHLP (UltraHLP.exe) to the same or another directory. To patch UltraHLE, start UltraHLP. Now a file window have to show up, select the UltraHLE executable, e.g. c:\ultrahle\ultra.exe, and click the "open" button. If an error occurs, like "I/O error 32", you have a wrong UltraHLE version or file. Another common error is "Dateizugriff verweigert", this occurs, if you have started UltraHLE, before you try to patch it, or your UltraHLE executable is write protected.

Now you can set all the features you want to include in your patched version of UltraHLE, see the read.1st for details. For "two player support" check the button. After you are satisfied with the settings, press "Patch .exe", then "Make .kwl file". Now you can close UltraHLP and start your new version of UltraHLE.

The two player support is very easy to use. If you have checked the two-player support button in UltraHLP, it is always enabled, until you unchecked it, and make a new .kwl file. Player one uses the keyboard, player two the joypad (you can edit the button configuration with ultraHLP). There might be problems, if you use a sidewinder with profiles, because it uses keyboard mapping, and you control the keyboard with the joystick (See the other manual). We do not posses a sidewinder,  so please do not send us mails, how to solve your problems with this pad. To use the two-player support, you need a joypad, witch have normal drivers for Windows, like the "Gravis Gamepad" drivers. You can play with two players like on the original n64.

Here is another simple manual, I grabbed from the UltraHLE message board:

I got it working... kinda hard because it uses the keyboard for player one, and the joystick for player two. I was using my
Sidewinder gamepad, as a joystick (I mapped the buttons to a ten button joy(stick/pad)) and then used the keyboard for
player two in MarioKart... I was very impressed. I think I could use two pads, one mapped to the key's, and the first pad
without any mapping and use fully functional 10 button "game controlers", but my roommate took his gamepad home for
spring break... :/ sounds like I may have to go "evaluate" a gamepad from a local store... :) That aside, I don't have a fast
enough computer to fully evaluate the patch. I don't know how it affects performance because on my 233 it is barely
playable anyway... :/ Any donations of CPUs, MotherBoards, Voodoo IIs and Sidewinder Gamepads will be gladly
accepted. :) The bottom line is that it does work.

Steps to install... Now I have never gotten the Control Panel to work right (has anyone?), and I have had trouble getting
UltraHLP to patch correctly, what is clear tho
